Division of Cardiology

Welcome to the Division of Cardiology at WMed. We strive to achieve excellence in each of our division missions, which includes providing superior patient-centered clinical care, exceptional training of the next generation of physicians who will spearhead the future growth in the field of cardiology, be a part of innovation and discovery, and provide support to the community through community-based programs for cardiovascular health maintenance. We take pride in our ability to provide exceptional training in cardiovascular disease diagnosis and management. Our faculty include a large number of highly committed community faculty in addition to WMed physicians who provide clinical care through the outpatient clinic at WMed Health and the outpatient clinics of our affiliate health systems - Ascension Borgess and Bronson Healthcare.

Our training platform utilizes core academic physicians and dedicated clinical faculty who work for our hospital partners. Our graduate trainees and undergraduate students benefit from their broad and well-rounded educational experience in cardiology. We also utilize the medical school’s world-class Simulation Center to enrich the trainees' education. Outpatient experiences in cardiology are provided through WMed Health clinics and the cardiology clinics at Heart Center of Excellence at Ascension Borgess and the Bronson Advanced Healthcare clinics.

Our division team members serve as the key faculty for the nationally known Interventional Cardiology fellowship program that is housed at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. Our faculty, which include, cardiologists at Ascension Borgess and Bronson, are actively involved in teaching medical students and residents from our Internal Medicine and Medicine-Pediatrics residency programs, and for our planned fellowship program in cardiovascular diseases. In addition to the exceptional teaching of our learners, our faculty are actively involved in innovation and discovery through the WMed innovation Center.
