The Division of Infectious Diseases is an integral part of WMed’s Department of Medicine. Together, we specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases and related disorders. We are committed to a broad range of clinical care, research and teaching activities.

Infectious agents include bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. Specific examples of infections are meningitis, brain abscesses, sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, hepatitis, kidney and bladder infections, sexually transmitted diseases, acquired immune deficiency syndrome, tuberculosis, skin and bone infections, and tropical diseases. 

Services

The Division of Infectious Diseases provides an array of specialized services at our Internal Medicine practice located on the second floor of WMed's Oakland Drive Campus, 1000 Oakland Drive, in Kalamazoo. The services and procedures we provide include:

  • Antibiotic management
  • Consultations
  • Foreign travel care coordination
  • Home antibiotic therapy
  • Sexually transmitted diseases
  • Evaluation and management of fever syndromes
