Division Chief
The Division of Geriatrics at WMed is dedicated to improving the care of older patients, especially those with multiple medical problems including persons with cognitive problems at all stages. To fulfill this mission the Division is dedicated to providing comprehensive assessment and care for older patients, teaching other health professionals about this care, especially those in training, and performing research aimed at improving individual and systems of care.
The founding member and chief of the Division, Daniel Brauner MD, is a geriatrician with more than 30 years of experience in caring for, teaching about and research aimed at optimizing the care of older persons. Having arrived at WMed shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic, our energy has been re-directed into developing virtual patient experiences that seek to bring vital care while protecting our patients who are especially vulnerable to the virus.

How to get an appointment: Virtual Geriatrics Consult Hospital Rounds take place weekly at both Ascension Borgess and Bronson Methodist hospitals.
