WMU plans major expansion of business technology and research park

"Strong industry clusters create robust employment opportunities for skilled tech workers as well as collaborative opportunities for businesses and universities. For the WMed Innovation Center specifically, the expansion of the park means that there will be property nearby for graduating client companies, thus retaining the companies, the employees, and the tax base here in Kalamazoo."

Those are the words of Sandra Cochrane, assistant dean for the WMed Innovation Center, who was featured recently in a piece in Crain's Detroit Business about plans by Western Michigan University to expand its Business Technology and Research Park.
