Beginning today, children and adolescents in Southwest Michigan who previously received specialized endocrine care at WMed Health Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes will start seeing providers at Bronson Pediatric Endocrinology Specialists. The Bronson practice is located at 601 John Street, Suite M‑351, inside Bronson Children’s Hospital in downtown Kalamazoo.
The practice ensures continuity of care for patients previously served by WMed Health Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, which transitioned its pediatric endocrinology and diabetes clinical practice to Bronson, effective Monday, April 20. Bronson and WMed Health have worked together to support a smooth transition for patients and referring physicians, helping families maintain uninterrupted access to specialized care.
“Our pediatric practitioners at WMed Health and Bronson Children’s Hospital share a long and proud history of collaboration and working together to enhance care for children in Southwest Michigan,” said J. Adrian Tyndall, MD, MPH, FACEP, the Hal B. Jenson, MD Dean, President and CEO of WMU Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed). “This transition aligns perfectly with that shared vision and will ensure the continuation of high-level service for our patients, the community, and our learners.”
The Bronson Pediatric Endocrinology practice will continue to serve as a clinical setting for WMed students and resident education and training. Bronson pediatric endocrinology physicians will have clinical faculty appointments in the medical school’s Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine and will be actively engaged in medical education as part of a long standing and successful educational partnership between WMed and Bronson-based pediatric subspecialty physicians.
Patients will continue to see familiar faces. Patricia Vining Maravolo, DNP, CPNP‑PC, who was formerly with WMed Health Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, has joined the Bronson team and will continue caring for pediatric patients, bringing extensive experience in diabetes management, growth and puberty disorders and other pediatric endocrine conditions. She will be joined by an additional physician to further support patient access.
Bronson Pediatric Endocrinology Specialists provides comprehensive care for infants, children and adolescents with diabetes and other endocrine conditions, including adrenal, bone, growth, pituitary and thyroid disorders. As the region’s only practice dedicated exclusively to pediatric endocrinology, it fills a critical need for families across Southwest Michigan.
“Children with diabetes and other endocrine conditions require highly specialized, coordinated care,” said Martinson Arnan, MD, MS, MPA, FAAN, Senior Vice President and Chief Physician Executive (CPE) for Bronson Healthcare. “By bringing this service into Bronson Children’s Hospital, families benefit from team‑based care alongside other pediatric specialists, with convenient access to on‑site laboratory and imaging services. This new practice reflects Bronson’s commitment to improving access, enhancing the patient and family experience and supporting the long‑term health of our community.”
