Videka graduates from WMed Innovation Center, becomes anchor tenant

Videka LogoThe WMed Innovation Center proudly announces the graduation of Videka, a pioneering high-tech company, from its business incubator program. Effective August 1, 2025, Videka will officially transition to anchor tenant status, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth and continued commitment to Kalamazoo’s innovation ecosystem.

Videka joined the WMed Innovation Center in August 2019, leveraging the center’s resources to develop its technologies, scale operations, and attract investment. Videka was originally a joint venture focusing on developing and providing natural solutions for preserving the quality and extending the shelf life of pet food. Now wholly owned by Symrise, the company has grown steadily and established itself as a leader in its sector, exemplifying the mission of the Innovation Center to support early-stage, high-growth companies in Southwest Michigan.

"Graduating from the incubator program and becoming an anchor tenant is a proud achievement for any company," said Sandra Cochrane, director of the WMed Innovation Center. "Videka’s success demonstrates the strength of our regional innovation infrastructure and the power of perseverance, collaboration, and strategic growth. We’re thrilled to continue supporting their journey in this new phase."

As an anchor tenant, Videka will remain located at the Innovation Center as an independent company, requiring fewer support services while contributing to the community as a mentor and model for incoming startups. This role is critical to fostering a vibrant, collaborative environment where innovation thrives.

"We’re incredibly grateful for the support we received from the WMed Innovation Center during our formative years," said Robb Caseria, CEO of Videka. "This milestone represents both a culmination of hard work and the beginning of a new chapter. We’re proud to stay in Kalamazoo and excited to continue to launch our natural antioxidants and natural antimicrobials globally."

The Innovation Center remains committed to nurturing early-stage life science and technology companies by providing wet lab and office space, shared equipment, professional services, and a network of seasoned mentors and advisors. Videka’s graduation is a testament to the strength and impact of this approach.
