Biosketch

Raul Torres, DO, is a family medicine physician and program director for the family medicine residency program at Corewell Health Lakeland. He is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, North Dakota. He completed his residency in family medicine at Corewell Health Lakeland. After residency, he practiced rural medicine in Jamestown, North Dakota. His practice included family practice, urgent care, nursing home care, wound care, and team physician at the University of Jamestown. He also provided hospital coverage caring for inpatient adult, pediatric, and ICU patients. He returned to Saint Joseph, Michigan in 2018 and served as core faculty with the family medicine residency program until becoming program director in 2021. He is an associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Central Michigan University College of Medicine. He has served as Medical Director for Physician Wellness at Corewell Health Lakeland and is a fierce advocate for physician, resident, and APP wellness.
