Biosketch

Bashar Hirmiz, MD, is a Family Medicine resident at - Kalamazoo Western Michigan University Homer Stryker, M.D. School of Medicine. He graduated from the University of Windsor, ON, with an undergraduate degree in Honours Psychology and Family and Social Relations. He then completed his pre-med coursework at Wayne State University and medical studies at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine. During his gap year from medical school to starting residency, he joined the Southern California University of Health Sciences as an adjunct professor, where he remotely taught courses in their accelerated sciences department, including psychology, medical terminology, anatomy and biology, as well as being a remote medical scribe to a private practice neurologist in Arizona. His clinical, teaching and research interests include preventive medicine, mental health and underserved populations.
