40th Annual Developmental Disabilities Conference
The 40th Annual Developmental Disabilities Conference will be held April 16-17 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, 219 S. Harrison Road, on the campus of Michigan State University.

The medical school will host the Annual Developmental Disabilities Conference in April in East Lansing.

The two-day event will be held April 16-17 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, 219 S. Harrison Road, on the campus of Michigan State University. The conference, now in its 40th year, focuses on issues related to healthcare, social, community, and educational services which are of critical importance to the future of persons with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. 

For attendees, the program will provide an overview of issues related to the spectrum of services currently available, as well as strategies for enhancing those services. The program is designed for physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, therapists, educators, nutritionists, home care providers, and other professionals interested in the delivery of care and services to persons with developmental disabilities.

Breakfast and lunch will be served during both days of the conference and an evening networking mixer is scheduled for 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16. The event will also feature several breakout sessions, as well as keynote addresses from Parker Crutchfield, PhD, professor in the Department of Medical Ethics, Humanities, and Law at WMed (“Ethical Enrollment of Children with Disabilities in Research”), and Suzi Naguib, PsyD, clinical director and licensed psychologist at the Sunfield Center in Ann Arbor (“Autism Today”).

The conference is co-sponsored by WMed and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Regular registration for the event is open through Sunday, March 31. After March 31, registration will be available onsite at the time of the event.
