Biosketch

Paul Jursinic, Ph.D., received his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in Engineering Physics as a James scholar. He completed his Ph.D. in Biophysics at the University of Illinois and worked as a research scientist for the US Department of Agriculture for 14 years. Dr. Jursinic received a Senior Research Fellowship from the American Cancer Institute and did postdoctoral training in the Department of Medical Physics at the University of Wisconsin. He began a career in clinical work as a medical physicist in the area of radiation therapy treatment of cancer. Dr. Jursinic worked in various clinics for 30 years: he was a research associate at the University of Wisconsin, an associate professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, clinical director of medical physics at the Battle Creek Health System, and clinical director of medical physics at West Michigan Cancer Center in Kalamazoo for 17 years. He retired in 2021 and is now working as a contracted radiation safety officer for Borgess Hospital and Western Michigan Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine. Dr. Jursinic has done important research in the field of radiation therapy physics. He has published 37 peer reviewed articles in international journals and has been invited to present his research work at numerous national and international meetings.
