The entire medical school community was invited to attend a Dean’s Forum in December to hear the annual state of the medical school update with highlights of achievements from fiscal year 2020-21. Nearly 300 faculty, residents, staff, and students attended the virtual forums which included a video with faces from across WMed and time for questions and answers with the dean.

During 2020-21, the medical school faced the challenges of the pandemic head on and continued to provide outstanding education to its learners, innovative research, and compassionate clinical care to the communities that it serves. The State of the Medical School video highlights just a few of the successes.

The forums serve to highlight the work that goes on at the medical school on an annual basis, Paula Termuhlen, MD, the dean of the medical school, said.

"I sincerely want to thank all of you for the work that you're doing today," Dr. Termuhlen said. "I know some of you are particularly pushed right now. Whether it's because maybe there are not as many people to do the work as there might otherwise be, or because of some of the challenges that we've been facing with the pandemic."
