Applicant and Interview Process

For the 2021-2022 interview season, we will be conducting virtual interviews via an online format to ensure the greatest safety and access for applicants. Our virtual interviews will be held November through January in a newly designed format.  We will continue our long tradition of holistically reviewing each application.

We participate in the National Residency Matching Program and we accept applications and documents through ERAS. You should submit the following documents via ERAS for consideration.

  • USMLE Score Reports or COMLEX Score Report
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Personal Statement
  • ERAS Application Form
  • Dean's Letter
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Optional statement detailing your specific interest in our program may be included as an addendum in your personal statement

What do we look for in an applicant?

  • Applicants who passed the USMLE or COMLEX exams on the first attempt.
  • Strong letters of recommendation.
  • Solid academic performance in medical school.
  • For international graduates, we prefer candidates who have graduated within the past three years. Occasionally, we consider an applicant who graduated more than three years ago if they have been practicing pediatrics or conducting medical research. We recommend U.S. clinical experience and we sponsor J1 visas. Confirmation of TOEFL-IBL Exam passed after January 1, 2015, is also required if medical education was taught in a language other than English. Please see this link for more information.

We receive a large number of applications and regret that we cannot extend interviews to everyone. In fairness to all applicants, we do not prescreen or offer any feedback in regards to applications. If you are selected for an interview, you will be notified by email.

Applications will be accepted until December 31.
