Biosketch

Cynthia Visscher, PhD, MBA, is Spiritual, Culture, and Health Program Coordinator for the Department of Comparative Religion at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, which is also where she earned her MBA. She completed a master's degree in comparative religion at WMU, which is also where she earned her doctorate in sociology.

Dr. Visscher's research foci include religious diversity and pluralism in the United States, religious tolerance, impact of religious belief on health status, spirituality and health, immigration and culture in relation to religious diversity, and immigration and culture in relation to health care practices.
