Applicant and Interview Process

For the 2023-2024 Match season, we will be conducting our residency interviews virtually.

We are also participating in ERAS signaling. Please see www.aamc.org for more details on that application process. We will be participating in the Orthopaedic Surgery Universal Offer Day on Monday, November 13. All students being invited to interview, including those on our waiting list, will be notified by Monday, December 11.

All applications are accepted in ERAS only. We will begin reviewing applications on September 27 when ERAS opens. You are encouraged to complete your ERAS application by September 27. Applicants invited to interview will receive invitations from our residency program coordinator through ERAS.

Completed applications are reviewed by our recruitment committee for interview selection and MUST include the following items:

  • ERAS application
  • Medical school transcript
  • USMLE exam reports
    • Step 1 required by September 28
    • Step 2 required before the February 28, 2024, ERAS Rank List Certification deadline
  • MSPE
  • Three letters of recommendation
    • AOA/CORD eSLOR and narrative are both accepted, eSLOR is encouraged. Follow this link for more information.

We require only three letters of recommendation, so we strongly encourage you to submit our program supplemental form (see link to form below). This is different from the ERAS supplemental, and is just two short questions answered in 50 words or less. Your completed form will be included in our review of your application prior to offering interviews. Please email your form in PDF format to orthosurg@wmed.edu, name the file WMED (last name first name); EX: WMED Stryker Homer
