Salman Abdul Majeed, DO, is a resident physician in the Psychiatry Residency Program at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at Benedictine University and completed his medical degree at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine (DMUCOM). A Gates Millennium Scholar, Dr. Abdul Majeed's passion for community work began in high school and progressed throughout his college and medical school careers. He was recognized by Foreign Minister of Somaliland Edna Adan for his medical relief work in Hargeysa, Somaliland, and currently serves as medical advisor for the Prime Need Orphanage in Accra, Ghana. His clinical and research interests include child and adolescent psychiatry, psychotherapy, preventive psychotherapy, interventional therapies such as ECT and TMS, and global health.
