Biosketch

Julie Schafer, FNP, received her undergraduate degree at Western Michigan University in biomedical sciences. She then went on to pursue a career in nursing and received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Michigan State University. After many years of service to Bronson she then undertook the master's degree in nursing program at MSU. After completing that program, she has been working as a family nurse practitioner, initially for palliative care, then transitioning to neurology. She is currently working to improve professional development by mentoring new advanced practice providers, as well as medical students and residents. Ms. Schafer has a wide experience in the area of medical surgical nursing, including post-operative recovery and pain management. She enjoys delivering evidence-based care while interacting within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
